Capstone's PebbleGo Releases Read More Feature, Extending Student Learning With Read-Aloud eBooks

October 23, 2019

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – October 23, 2019 – Capstone, innovative publisher of children’s educational content for schools and home, announces the release of PebbleGo™ Read More, an add-on feature for its Animals and Science modules. Read More incorporates two read-aloud eBooks connected with each article allowing students to delve deeper into research projects or their own interests with optional additional reading.

Educators can add Read More to their existing subscriptions and extend student learning through:

  • Reinforcing critical thinking and research skills with a second, citable source
  • Supporting emerging readers with natural voice audio and text highlighting, consistent with all areas in PebbleGo
  • Offering hundreds of additional resources from Capstone’s industry-leading collection
  • Easy access within each article through a Read More tab within the PebbleGo environment
  • Encouraging personalized learning by giving them additional content in their favorite topics

The Read More option is currently offered only in the English Animals and Science modules.

“This has been quite the year for our PebbleGo product line, from celebrating its 10th anniversary to relaunching with a modern platform and accessibility supports for students with disabilities. Our Read More feature is yet another enhancement to help reinforce the curriculum for elementary school students. We’re excited about how it helps students read more about topics that interest them,” said Darin Rasmussen, VP of Digital Product Development.

All PebbleGo modules include text written for the needs of K-3 learners, fully narrated by professional voice-over artists to provide essential scaffolds for emerging and struggling readers and English language learners. PebbleGo is compliant with Section 508 standards (U.S. Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973) and WCAG 2.1 AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), ensuring it’s accessible to children with vision, cognitive, physical, and hearing disabilities. PebbleGo uses a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. PebbleGo has over 1.7 billion page views which equates to every K-3 student in the United States reading 7 articles. More than 4 million students use PebbleGo each year.
