Booklists
Expertly curated book lists especially for California! These collections were created to help expand school and classroom libraries to reflect students’ home and community experiences. The goal is to provide ‘mirrors’ so that every child can see themselves in literature they will enjoy, and ‘windows’ that help readers cultivate empathy, acceptance, and understanding.
Featuring a mix of fiction and nonfiction, including Spanish options when available, Capstone’s books are often told from the perspective of authentic storytellers. These bundles help expand and develop a diverse collection of books with culturally relevant texts that are leveled to support independent reading.
