Coughlan Companies Announces Scholarship Recipients

MANKATO, Minn. – July 14, 2015 – Coughlan Companies, Inc., the holding company for Capstone and Jordan Sands, is pleased to announce the recipients of the Coughlan Companies Employee Dependent Scholarship Program. The program awards scholarships to the children of Coughlan Companies employees enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at accredited institutions in the upcoming academic year. Each student will receive a $3,000 award.

Recipients of the 2015 Employee Dependent Scholarships are:

  • William Bennett, a 2014 graduate of Saint Peter High School (Saint Peter, Minn.). William will be a SOPHMORE this fall at Concordia College – Moorhead (Moorhead, Minn.), majoring in Sociology. William spent part of his spring term studying abroad in China. He is on the college soccer team and participates in the men’s choir group. William is also a student ambassador in the admissions department at Concordia.
  • Madison Bentdahl, a 2014 graduate of Mankato West High School (Mankato, Minn.). Madison will be a SOPHMORE this fall at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse (La Crosse, Wis.) majoring in Biology. Madison currently serves as the senator for her residence hall association council, previously serving as vice president of university affairs for the association. She enjoys outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
  • Hallie McIntyre, a 2013 graduate of Union Public Schools (Tulsa, Okla.). Hallie will be a JUNIOR this fall at the University of Oklahoma (Norman, Okla.) majoring in Studio Art. Hallie’s artwork was on display in the student painting gallery show this past spring and she made the Dean’s Honor Roll in fall 2014. Hallie enjoys spending her time painting and printmaking.
  • Brian Remington, a graduate of United South Central (Wells, Minn.). Brian will be a FRESHMAN this fall at Northeast Iowa Community College (Calmar, Iowa) studying Automotive Technology, Power Mechanics and Transportation with an emphasis in the John Deere TECH program. In high school Brian was a member of the National Honor Society, Boy Scouts, and FFA and active in cross country, track, and with the organization Kids for a Cure which helps raise money for Type 1 diabetes.

Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America®, oversees the application and award process. Among the selection criteria include: academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, and statement of goals and aspirations.
