Capstone Young Readers and Epic! Announce eBook Subscription Deal
Minneapolis, Minn. – April 28, 2014 – Capstone Young Readers, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, announces a distribution agreement with Epic!, the first all-you-can-read eBook subscription service designed for kids 2-12. Recently launched for the iPad, Epic! features a digital library of more than 3,000 high-quality children’s eBooks, with personalized recommendations and fun, game-like elements to encourage reading. Capstone Young Readers is the 16th publisher to join the service.
“When it comes to children and reading, it’s all about the power of choice. We believe children read for longer and more often when they can choose what they read. We’re excited to partner with Epic! to help bring more of the great characters and content children love to read about to families on this convenient platform,” said Ashley Andersen Zantop, Capstone Group Publisher and General Manager.
Among the 500 eBooks under the agreement are titles from Capstone’s licensing partnerships with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (You Choose: Scooby-Doo) and DC Entertainment (DC Super-Pets and DC Super Heroes), Sports Illustrated Kids (SI Kids Rookie Books, Sports Illustrated Kids Graphic Novels, and Sports Illustrated Kids Victory School Superstars), and Tony Hawk Inc. (Tony Hawk’s 900 Revolution and Tony Hawk: Live 2 Skate). Popular Capstone characters, such as Jake Maddox, Katie Woo, Kylie Jean, Zeke Meeks, Benji Franklin and Krystal Ball, as well as select toddler and picture books, nonfiction favorites, and the Eisner Award nominated titles Here I Am and Jellaby, are also available as part of the initial launch.
“We're pleased that Capstone has chosen to partner with Epic! in our mission to get children excited about reading,” said Suren Markosian, CEO & Co-Founder of Epic!. “Their diverse range of wonderful fiction and nonfiction books will enhance our already strong offering and delight our readers.”
The Epic! app is available through iTunes for the iPad2 and higher.
