Capstone Launches Online Forum for Educators

Capstone Community Brings Together PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next Users

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – October 10, 2017 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, announces the launch of Capstone Community, an online forum for educators to find resources, share ideas, ask questions, and get help from a community of PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next users.

"We see examples every day of how educators are using PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next in fun, exciting, and beneficial ways in their schools. We wanted to create a space where users could share their successes, discover best practices, and learn from each other. Capstone Community is a place for them to connect and collaborate," said Matt Keller, Capstone’s Chief Marketing Officer.

The Capstone Community forum includes a “Resources” section which features lesson plans and activities, videos, content maps, and ways to promote PebbleGo to teachers, students and parents through templated letters, bookmarks, and more. Renowned teacher-librarian Shannon McClintock Miller will write a monthly column in the “Blog” section. The “Discussions” board connects users with each other and is a place for them to post questions and share their ideas and success stories. Throughout the month, Capstone will select educators using the hashtag #PebbleGoGoals to win Pebble print books. The “Find Answers” portion of the site offers technical support with answers to frequently asked questions, and allows users to create a new case if they don’t find what they are looking for. New cases will be monitored and responded to within 24 hours.

The award-winning PebbleGo modules for grades PreK-3 (Animals, Spanish Animales, Biographies, Dinosaurs, Science, and Social Studies) and PebbleGo Next modules for grades 3-5 (Science, Social Studies, and States and American Indian Studies) include expertly leveled text with read-aloud audio recorded by professional voice over artists to provide essential scaffolds to make content accessible for all learners. The databases incorporate a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos and games, and encompassing activities that teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The databases are available over the Internet 24/7. Over 3 million students use PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next. During the 2016-17 school year alone, students viewed 104 million articles in the databases.
