“PebbleGo customers are passionate about how our product helps to support early learner’s research and comprehension skills. The high renewal rates each year demonstrate their confidence in our award-winning product. With the expansion of PebbleGo Biographies, libraries will have the most cost effective, and up-to-date way to own a complete collection of presidential biographies,” said Matt Keller, Capstone Chief Marketing Officer.
PebbleGo employs reading scaffolding strategies to strengthen emergent readers’ literacy and research skills through a streamlined interface, audio supports, and easy-to-read articles. PebbleGo Biographies is correlated to state and national social studies standards and features biographies on famous figures in history in 12 easy-to-navigate categories, such as athletes, explorers, inventors, and presidents and first ladies. The database includes articles discussing subjects’ early life, life’s work, milestones, and legacy.
PebbleGo Biographies includes expertly leveled and fully narrated text, animated highlighting, glossary words, visual searching, educational videos and games, an interactive timeline of key dates, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The database is available over the Internet 24/7 as an annual subscription for enrolled students.
Launched in April 2009, PebbleGo Animals was the first database of its kind featuring text specifically leveled for a K-3 student. Reviewers gave the database 5-stars (MultiMedia & Internet @ Schools), an A+ (School Library Journal), a Star review (Library Media Connection), and named it one of the year’s “Top 20 Best Bets for Student Researchers” (Booklist) and “Top Five Resources for Fall” (School Library Journal). PebbleGo has received a number of awards from the Software and Information Industry Association, Tech & Learning magazine, Learning magazine, the Association of Educational Publishers, and ComputEd Gazette.
