Capstone Celebrates Librarians' Hidden Talents with Calendar Contest

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – March 14, 2017 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is celebrating the importance of librarians by launching a national photo contest open to school and public library media specialists in the United States. “The Power of Librarians” contest invites librarians to share a dynamic photo of their hidden talents, extreme abilities, or amazing stories. The winning photos and descriptions will be showcased in a special edition 2018 calendar available from Capstone in August.

Self-submissions from librarians as well as field nominations from colleagues and the greater community are welcomed. Entrants are encouraged to describe how their nominee makes meaningful connections with students and why they should be featured in the calendar, and to upload a photo which captures the spirit of the librarian’s talent or ability. Examples might include implementing an extraordinary program in the library, leading community projects, competing in extreme sports or activities, or traveling around the world.

Entries are accepted now through April 15 at Visit the contest page for complete rules and terms.

The calendar will be available starting in August at select Capstone events and for purchase with Capstone Rewards points.

“We admire librarians and want to spotlight their many professional and personal talents. Our ‘Power of Librarians’ contest underscores the contribution of librarians and libraries in our communities in a fun, celebratory way. Encourage a librarian you know to enter, or nominate them yourself,” said Matt Keller, Capstone Chief Marketing Officer.
