Capstone Announces PebbleGo Next Science Database at Texas Library Association Conference
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – April 18, 2016 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is announcing its newest database module PebbleGo Next™: Science this week at the Texas Library Association (TLA) conference (booth 1621). Set for release in summer 2016, the module will introduce science content targeted to the needs and curriculum of students in grades 3-5 and will join the previously launched PebbleGo Next: States and American Indian Studies released in late 2014.
PebbleGo Next: Science will group content into broad categories – earth science, physical science, life science, and the field of science – and feature more than 150 articles, all aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. Each of the articles will include: a project or activity related to the topic, a research report template, critical thinking questions, a video (when available), and information-rich text. Additionally, videos of experiments will be available for most of the main search categories.
“TLA is a high-energy, exciting show with a tremendous PebbleGo fan base, making it the perfect place to announce the summer launch of PebbleGo Next: Science. We’re thrilled to offer students who have graduated from PebbleGo the next step in science research. We’re looking forward to giving Texas librarians a sneak peek of this resource and can’t wait to hear their feedback,” said Matt Keller, Capstone Chief Marketing Officer.
PebbleGo Next includes expertly levelled text with read-aloud audio recorded by professional voice over artists to provide essential scaffolds to make content accessible for all learners. PebbleGo Next employs a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos and games, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The database is available over the Internet 24/7 as an annual subscription for enrolled students.
This summer, customers of PebbleGo Next: States and American Indian Studieswill notice a redesigned interface, as well as additional content for every state article.
