Six Traits
CraftPlus focuses on giving young writers practice with explicitly taught organizational and composing Target Skills and conventions. Mastery of these Target Skills develops young writers who attain the desired traits of writing. An alignment of the Target Skills with the traits appears below.

Title 1, Part A
As stated by the U. S. Department of Education, Title 1, Part A – “Improving Basic Programs,” is designed to “ensure that all students have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.”

CraftPlus is aligned to the criteria specifically mentioned in Title 1, Part A.
