Library Media Connection - David Lininger

These four titles actually comprise one book, but published in four parts. They remind me of a combination of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson, with references to ancient gods, trolls, and other mythical creatures. Each title is a complete story, but since the continuing characters are not reintroduced, readers need to start reading with the first book. Each title has several symbolic illustrations, characters are drawn to let the reader know which character is being depicted. Although the story is the common “aliens have landed” variety, the variation is that some of the aliens are already on earth, below the surface. Recommended.
