Library Media Connection - Shelly Glantz

Heinemann-Raintree has created a new imprint based on some of their existing Acorn series. Each of these oversized books represents a series overview suitable for your youngest patrons, even in a large group setting. Large photographs or illustrations with white space and large dark text make up each page. The vividly colored photographs are much more effective than those titles with drawings. Although glossary words are bolded within the text, they are difficult to distinguish. Many of the books include questions for students; all include a note to parents and teachers with suggestions for before and after reading activities. Extremely useful for those libraries with the Acorn series in their collections, these volumes will make valuable references for youngsters in all libraries. Glossary. Table of Contents. Index.
