Clark County School District Library Services - Shelby Guinn
This book is a general over view of the history of the World Cup Soccer Tournament. It describes highlights that have occurred throughout the tournament’s history. It is interesting and easily read; however, it does have the expectation that the reader is familiar with the sport. The glossary offered is minimal, but appropriate for this volume. Illustrations are appropriate to the story. Facts and descriptions are accurate and consistent with the story and setting. –Shelby Guinn, Swainston Middle School Clark County School District Library Services 4/30/10

Stats, scores, players . . . everything you might want to know about the world’s favorite sport. Beautiful photographs, interesting page layout, and stamp-like post-its that offer short bursts on commentary on the photos. Text is focused and clear, but appropriate for capable readers. –Kathryn Davis Arlington Independent School District 4/19/2010

This book recounts some of the most exciting moments in World Cup competition from 1930 onward. I do not follow soccer, but I found it easy to follow along with this book. Our students who follow soccer will be excited by this book. – Ellen Bailey, Azalea Gardens Middle School Norfolk Public Schools2/22/2010
