Arlington Independent School District - Patty Pardue
Part of The Life of Plants series this book discusses how the various parts of the plant are used for everything from food to clothing and building materials. Terms such as photosynthesis and respiration are explained in simple, understandable terms. This clarity continues throughout the book answers questions from how do we get seedless grapes to vegetable versus fruit. Definitions are given for fruit, nut, seed, etc. explaining the often confused differences. The pictures are adequate and a glossary, index, and further information are provided. Students will be able to find information for reports and the sidebars provide quite a bit of information for those not wanting to read the whole book. –Patty Pardue, Ashworth School Arlington Independent School District 1/29/2011
