The Lorgnette - Heart of Texas Reviews - Paula Day

This exceptional biography about the life of Albert Einstein is written for very young readers. The simple, “to-the-point” text is enhanced by the colorful illustrations. There is a time line of Einstein’s life, a “Did You Know?” page with other interesting facts about his life, a glossary of terms used in the book, a “To Learn More” page with a bibliography and a website, and an index. This book, along with others in this series of biographies, would be a great addition to any primary classroom.

Children's Literature Comprehensive Database - Carly Reagan

Follow Albert Einstein from childhood to Nobel Peace Prize winner in this simple, easy-to-read biography. One of several historical figure biographies published by Picture Window Books, this delivers a beginner's view into the life of Albert Einstein. With simple language accompanied by attractive illustrations, this book uses a very kid-friendly approach to historical biographies. Beginning with Einstein as a quiet, curious child, the author finds a way to highlight the man himself instead of focusing solely on his accomplishments. Somehow Einstein's complicated achievements in the world of physics are explained in a simple manner, including the fact that his work contributed to the creation of atomic bombs, an unfortunate fact that is often overlooked. The back of the book features extras such as an historical time line, fun facts, a glossary, an index, and suggestions for further reading. With specific historical dates and substantial coverage of Albert Einstein's life displayed in a way that is easy for even young children to understand, this book would be a fantastic addition to a collection of biographies in the classroom or on the school library shelves.
