| This exciting series promotes the understanding of global problems and news stories by helping children understand the issues and organizations involved. Each chapter focuses on a different issue and the global organizations involved. Two short news stories highlight the problems involved and head double page spreads. These are used as a starting point to explain how the global community has acted in the story. Each chapter also has a double page spread outlining the key organization involved, giving a brief history, how it works, and why it is necessary. For each news story, the human rights and ethics issues involved are discussed in order to bring the concepts down to a more personal level for young readers.
