Capstone Launches Spanish PebbleGo in 2016
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Sept. 16, 2015 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is pleased to announce its most popular PebbleGo™ database will be available in Spanish in Spring 2016. With Spanish text and read-aloud Spanish-language audio recorded by professional voice-over artists, PebbleGo Animales will feature articles on more than 250 animals and their behaviors for grades PreK-2. PebbleGo Animales’ content map will match the English language version of the module.
Arranged in broad categories by classification system (amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals, and reptiles) and other wide-ranging groupings (insects and spiders, pets and farm animals, etc.), PebbleGo Animales explores information on the animal’s body, habitat, food, and life cycle. The database includes range maps showing geographic regions and downloadable templates to label animal parts. Accompanying activities, games, a question of the day, and teacher materials supplement the learning opportunities.
“We’re thrilled to add PebbleGo Animales to our award-winning collection. We anticipate our customers in regions with Spanish-speaking populations will especially find value in offering this to their young learners. As schools prepare for tremendous growth in the number of Spanish-speaking students, PebbleGo Animales will be a supportive resource for those early PreK-2 researchers exploring their favorite animals. The Spanish language text facilitates the content knowledge needs of these dual language learners,” said Matt Keller, Capstone Chief Marketing Officer.
PebbleGo Animales will be the sixth module in the award-winning database collection, joining Dinosaurs, which launched last month, and Animals, Biographies, Science, and Social Studies.
All PebbleGo database modules include expertly-leveled text, fully narrated by professional voice-over artists to provide essential scaffolds for struggling readers and English language learners. PebbleGo employs a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos and games, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The database is available over the Internet 24/7 as an annual subscription for enrolled students.
