Capstone Announces More PebbleGo Spanish and PebbleGo Next Biographies Databases at Texas Library Association Conference
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – April 2, 2018 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is announcing the newest additions to its award-winning PebbleGo™ and PebbleGo Next database modules this week at the Texas Library Association (TLA) conference in Dallas at booth 1313.
PebbleGo is launching three new Spanish modules in early fall 2018: PebbleGo Biografías (Biographies), PebbleGo Ciencia (Science), and PebbleGo Estudios Sociales (Social Studies). All modules will include a content map that matches the English language version, Spanish text, and read-aloud Spanish audio recorded by professional voice-over artists.
Set for release in late summer 2018, PebbleGo Next Biographies will explore the lives of hundreds of important inventors, explorers, African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, women, and more. The database will also include Texas specific biographies of heroes of the Alamo, business leaders, politicians, scientists, and more.
“The beginning of the school year is always an exciting time, but will be even more so this fall for our PebbleGo customers. With the addition of three more Spanish modules in PebbleGo for K-2 dual language learners and the PebbleGo Next Biographies database for grades 3-5, we know our customers will find even more value for their young researchers,” said Matt Keller, Capstone Chief Marketing Officer. “We are also pleased to continue to provide authentic Spanish text and audio, not machine translated or text to speech to make sure that our content is both correct and engaging.”
The award-winning PebbleGo modules for grades PreK-2 (Animals, Spanish Animales, Biographies, Dinosaurs, Science, and Social Studies) and PebbleGo Next modules for grades 3-5 (Science, Social Studies, and States and American Indian Studies) include expertly leveled text with read-aloud audio recorded by professional voice over artists to provide essential scaffolds to make content accessible for all learners. The databases incorporate a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos and games, and encompassing activities that teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The databases are available over the Internet 24/7. Over 3 million students use PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next. During the 2016-17 school year alone, students viewed 104 million articles in the databases.
