Response to Intervention(RTI)

Red Brick Learning titles support all tiers of Response to Intervention and meet the needs of all students whether they need intervention, instruction or enrichment.

Tier I Intervention: Differentiated Instruction (80% of students)

Reader's Theater and Big Books assist the teacher with classroom instruction by setting a purpose and introducing vocabulary for all levels of readers. Find books that provide differentiated instruction to students of varied reading levels throughout the catalog. Choose from a wide variety of high-interest books written at appropriate reading levels for independent, silent reading or buddy reading.

Tier II Intervention: (15% of students)

Fiction and nonfiction leveled readers introduce reading strategies and the elements of reading comprehension for tier II intervention. Build fluency, phonemic awareness and vocabulary with the text features each book contains, including table of contents, glossary and back matter.

Tier III Intervention: Intensive Interventions (5% of students)

All Red Brick Learning titles enhance small-group or one-on-one instruction for Tier III interventions with books written at appropriate levels for each reader's skill and grade level. Individualize instruction becomes more valid with the close text/illustration match perfect for practice reading and then responding to text.

Guided Reading Level

Guided reading is an instructional practice where the responsibility for reading success is gradually turned over from teacher to student. Through the use of carefully leveled text, young readers are strategically introduced to new reading challenges.

Early-Intervention Level

Early-intervention programs are designed to help beginning readers who show early signs of reading difficulties. The goal is to provide enough specialized instruction for these children to return them as quickly as possible to on-grade-level performance.
