Great Brands - Acorn Read-Aloud

Acorn Read-AloudAcorn Read-Alouds provide an overview of the material discussed in the corresponding Acorn series at a slightly higher reading level than our Acorn titles.  These bigger books introduce content and vocabulary appropriate for a unit of study, and also provide an ideal opportunity for teachers or librarians to teach nonfiction text structure.

Each Acorn Read-Aloud book utilizes nonfiction text features such as bolded words, labels, and captions to enhance their content as well as facilitate visual literacy.  The text acquaints readers with subject vocabulary and images while the structure encourages questioning, comparison, and reader curiosity.
